Regular Season final scores

Vikings are in the playoffs! AP is getting awfully close to being my favorite Viking ever.

Royce's Top 10 Vikings:
1. Fran Tarkenton - QB
2. Adrian Peterson - RB
3. Alan Page - DT
4. Herschel Walker - RB
5. Anthony Carter - WR
6. Warren Moon - QB
7. Chris Doleman - DE/LB
8. Chris Carter - WR
9. Randall Cunningham - QB
10. Bud Grant - Coach

My season is pretty much a lost cause - I only have 2 teams going into the playoffs. Aaron and Brad have 3 each and Darin has 4.

Glad to see the Seahawks do so well this year. Even though the Redskins took out "my" Cowboys to get there I am glad they are playing the Seahawks so we can see how RG3 and Russell Wilson fare head-to-head in a playoff setting.

Brad easily won the regular season but we all still have a chance. Should be an exciting post-season!

Week 16 results

Closest week yet. I beat Aaron by 1 point, Brad by 2, and Darin by 9. It's looking like my Vikings will make the playoffs; I never would have guessed that at the start of the season. And how about those Seahawks!

Week 15 AKA Waxenfelter bros comeback week

3 shutouts in a week? From 13 points 2 weeks ago to 83 this week? Seahawks scoring over 100 in a 2-game span? Such an unpredictable year! Looks like the race is back on but Brad still holds a pretty solid lead.

Week 13

My teams went 1-7 and landed me the worst week of anyone so far this season... and to top it off the Cowboys were my only win... ugghhh.

Week 11 & 12 Results

The town of Houston has now seen Jim Kelly, Warren Moon, and Matt Schaub each pass for more than 500 yards during a game.

Darin is getting close to catching Brad. The imposing Patriots are now tied with Atlanta for the #2 scoring spot.

The Falcons make up almost 1/4 of Aaron's points.

I am putting all of my eggs in Giant Raven baskets. Speaking of big birds...

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Week 10 Results

Darin & I caught up a little bit. The 1st loss of the year for the Falcons sent Aaron pummeling even faster toward his demise. Here are the results from Week 10:

Week 7 Results

I was temporarily caught up to Brad... but then he won the final two games of the week. Vikings are having a much better year than I expected them too. Still a close season overall.

Week 6 Results

Brad and Darin each had a great week, most likely cheering at the dismal fizzle of Darin & I. Luckily, the Blazers pre-season is under way, giving me something else to focus on!

Week 5 Results

Saints finally got a win - an especially nice win since it was over the team I traded them for. Falcons and Texans look to be the Super Bowl contenders right now... but the Vikings keep stunning everyone so you never know!

Even though I had 2 teams out this week I ended up with 50... but Brad's in the lead. Without the Falcons where would Aaron be?

Week Three Results

Week 3 ushered me from last to first place, thanks in large part to the defense of Minnesota and a last second Ravens' comeback.

Brad's Seahawks pulled a win out of thin air - or did they? Luckily for Brad the one person in America who thought so happened to be the ref.

Detriot had 25 points in the 4th quarter, 14 of those in the last minute of regulation including a great Hail Mary catch...  but went on to lose in OT.

The dream of the 1980 'Aints is alive in New Orleans.

Texans and Falcons are the top 2 teams in our league... and 3rd is the - you guessed it - Cardinals?!?

It's a highly unpredictable and volatile year so far, wouldn't you say?

The Autumn Wind is... Steve Sabol

The NFL Films co-founder who paved the way for ESPN passed away yesterday. He wrote most of the scripts for NFL films, including this classic:

Weak Deuce

While my Cardinals for Buccaneers trade is panning out, the rest of my teams aren't striking it rich like Darin's 49ers. Here are the scores after week 2 (click to view):

2012 Draft

I got together with my brother Aaron, Brad Cotton, & Darin Carlson at Blitz Ladd in SE Portland recently to make our football picks for 2012. The addition of Darin this year should make things exciting - he started by instigating a bit of preseason trading to the mix!

Should be a fun year!!

New Seahawks Logo

I found an article that claimed this is the new Seahawks logo for 2012:

I don't know if it's 100% accurate though. It also said that they will be following the pattern of the Oregon Ducks football team and changing helmets / uniforms on a weekly basis. Also not confirmed but I like the idea.

What do you think?

2011 Season - final outcome

Brad wins! Congratulations on the win my friend!

Sunday, January 22, 2012

Conference Finals

Both Conference Final games were neck and neck and fun to watch. Brad's Giants eeked out a win in OT over the despised 49ers to stay alive. Aaron's Patriots squeaked past my Ravens to nullify my season.

Brad is slightly behind Aaron going into the Super Bowl but whoever wins takes the season... just like we all predicted at the beginning of the season.

Quarter Finals

Aaron went into the weekend with only 3 teams and came out with two while Brad & I went in with 4 apiece and came out with just 1 each. Still too close to call though!

Regular Season Team Ranking Chart

Here is a chart of the teams ranked in order of points scored during the regular season and a chart that shows scoring rules in case you need a reminder before the playoffs begin.

Week 17

Aaron had an amazing final week of the regular season to pull ahead. Brad and I each have one more playoff team though so there's still hope! Yellow highlights denote which week playoff teams begin playing.
